women's Mission department
The Women (age 18 and older) of Greater St. John Baptist Church make up the GSJBC Mission Department. The GSJBC Mission Department serves many areas within the church body from prayer and charity, to caring for the sick and bereaved, to visitations and hospitality, to bringing the lost to Christ. The purpose of the GSJBC Mission Department is to promote love, spiritual growth and maturity, prayer and word study as the Women are encouraged to deepen their relationship with the Lord so they can be equipped to be a witness for Him.
The Women’s Mission Department will primarily be focused on caring for the members, encouraging member attendance and involvement, and assimilating new members. Success of this ministry will bring a sense of love, belonging, trust and accountability to Christ and to each member of our Mission Department. This will also enhance a sense of community as it relates to the body of Christ.
In all regards, Christ is at the head of all we do for the glory of God.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and he committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now, then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.”
II Corinthians 5:17-20
